5th Sundays - Favorite Hymn Time:
In months where there are five Sundays, we will have a "Favorite Hymn Time" on that 5th Sunday to replace the instrumental
prelude. Just tell us what your favorite hymn is and we'll sing a verse or two. You can even email it ahead of
time to Theresa McCoy at teresamccoy@hotmail.com . Those Sundays are August 31st, November 30th, March 29th, and May 31st.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: If you love
knitting or crocheting and have a compassion for others, we invite you to join our new Prayer Shawl Ministry each week
on Fridays in the Parlor, 10:30 AM. In making and distributing shawls, we are providing a much needed hug for
someone with a special need. The Ministry Team has very simple patterns and will teach beginners or those
who need a refresher. You will also learn about suitable yarns and meaningful colors.
Contempory Alternative Worship Services:
These events at BPC are held on the third Sunday evening of each month, 7:00-8:00pm, on the lower level of the Educational
Building in the former Montessori room. You can access this room from the back parking lot, first door on left.
Come and enjoy our Praise Team, lots of praise music, scripture, prayer, and
a sermon/skit.

Beth and Ryan Groth:
Beth and Ryan Groth moved to Beckley in August 2007 from Johnson City, Tennessee, where they had attended a Presbyterian

activities. They are expecting their first child in late October.

to Scott Worley for making new dowel rods and helping to cut out the letters.
Youth:
Ronald MacDonald Pop-Tab Collection:
The children of the church have been collecting pop can tabs to help support a very worthwhile cause - Ronald MacDonald
Houses. You can read about this project by visiting the MacDonald website.
Youth Fundraising:
New>
Computer Searches: You can help the youth raise money for future mission trips by using the
"Good Search" search engine at www.goodsearch.com when searching for something online. Good Search shares its advertising profits with non-profit organizations
like churches, and BPC is now registered with them. Bring up the page and name Beckley Presbyterian Church as the charity
you are using. Everytime you do that, the church youth get a small donation.
Blue Roo Consignment:
As you begin spring cleaning, please consider donating items to the Blue Roo Consignment Shop on South Heber
Street to help raise money for your youth mission trips. The youth account is #4546. They will receive 40% on clothing
and 60% on other items such as books, movies, pictures, CDs, formal wear, baby needs, etc. See the PipeLine for more
specific directions on how to donate.
Kroger Gift Cards:
The youth want to thank everyone who has purchased and is using the Kroger Card for food and gas, which helps to raise money
for their mission trips. Since April 2005, the income from the cards has been $1,861.50. This is great - keep
buying and spending! Cards are available from the Church Office for $10.00, the amount already credited to each card.
Information
about this Kroger Gift Card Fundraising Program is at the bottom of the page.
