5th Sundays - Favorite Hymn Time:  In months where there are five Sundays, we will have a "Favorite Hymn Time" on that 5th Sunday to replace the instrumental prelude.  Just tell us what your favorite hymn is and we'll sing a verse or two.  You can even email it ahead of time to Theresa McCoy at teresamccoy@hotmail.com

Cookbook:  Corrections for the cookbook we sold a while back, "Feeding the Flock," are as follows...
Recipe correctionpage 41 - Bob's Baked Beef Stew - half the ingredients were somehow left out of the printing.  Please add the following to Bob's recipe: 1/2 tsp. pepper (or less), 5 T flour, 1 tsp. sugar, 3 to 4 cups V-8 juice, and 3/4 cup burgundy or heavy dark wine.
Recipe correction:  page 126 - Chocolate Eclair Cake - the Cool Whip ingredient  should read 1 containter (8-oz) Cool Whip.
Recipe correction:  page 81 - Chicken Pot Pie in Puff Pastry - add 1 can cream of chicken soup to ingredients.

Youth Fundraising:
New> Computer Searches:  You can help the youth raise money for future mission trips by using the "Good Search" search engine at www.goodsearch.com when searching for something online.  Good Search shares its advertising profits with non-profit organizations like churches, and BPC is now registered with them.  Bring up the page and name Beckley Presbyterian Church as the charity you are using.  Everytime you do that, the church youth get a small donation.

Blue Roo Consignment:  As you begin spring cleaning, please consider donating items to the Blue Roo Consignment Shop on South Heber Street to help raise money for your youth mission trips.  The youth account is #4546. They will receive 40% on clothing and 60% on other items such as books, movies, pictures, CDs, formal wear, baby needs, etc.  See the PipeLine for more specific directions on how to donate.

Kroger Gift Cards:  The youth want to thank everyone who has purchased and is using the Kroger Card for food and gas, which helps to raise money for their mission trips.  Since April 2005, the income from the cards has been $1,861.50.  This is great - keep buying and spending!  Cards are available from the Church Office for $10.00, the amount already credited to each card.
Information about this Kroger Gift Card Fundraising Program  is at the bottom of the page.

In the HospitalRead This!

A Federal Law prohibits the disclosure of patient information by hospitals.  As a result, the church office or pastor may not know the status of a church member.
If you are hospitalized and would like for the pastor to be aware of your situation, please call the church.  (If you do not wish us to announce to the congregation that you are ill, please let us know that as well.)

LITTLE  EFFORT - BIG REWARDS

The Youth of Beckley Presbyterian Church are implementing a Kroger Gift Card Fundraising Program which is a just phenomenal. It is so very simple, yet so very prosperous.

The church will be purchasing each card up front with an initial face value of $5 that can be later used toward any purchase at Kroger.  The Youth will be asking members and friends of the church to purchase the $5 cards for the face value and then simply use it.  Then, you are asked to “refuel” the card for any amount and use it over and over again.  This is where the youth will benefit.

Each time you refuel the card (at the Customer Service Counter) and use it toward purchases, the total amount of your purchase will be recorded in the Beckley Presbyterian Youth account.  Then, each time $5,000 has been raised, Kroger will send a check for 5% of that total.

The 5% can become quite substantial over a period of time especially if numerous folks are using the cards.  Please keep in mind that you are simply “prepaying” for the purchases you intend on making at Kroger, there are no hidden costs or tricks.   Cards will soon be available please prayerfully consider this program.
